The Tower Ballroom

LandmarkCentral

Sprung maple floor, Wurlitzer organ and gilded balconies — still a working dance floor.

Tickets & opening times

The Ballroom sits inside the Blackpool Tower building and is the reason many people come to Blackpool at all. Built in 1894 and reworked by Frank Matcham, it has a sprung maple, oak and mahogany floor, three tiers of gilded balconies and a Wurlitzer organ that rises out of the stage between dance sessions.

You do not need to dance. Tea dances run through the afternoon and there is always a scattering of visitors sitting at the tables with a pot of tea watching the floor. If you do want to dance, the floor is open to everyone and nobody minds beginners.

Entry is included with Tower tickets and the Ballroom is a short flat walk from every one of our hotels.
