Hen and stag weekends done right

Where a big group actually works, and how to keep everyone together.

Blackpool has hosted big groups longer than anywhere else in Britain, and there is a right way to do it: stay central, walk everywhere, book the fixed points and leave the rest loose.

Stay walkable

The single biggest thing is location. Central Blackpool puts the bars, the Tower, the Prom and the stations inside a fifteen-minute walk, so nobody is waiting on taxis at midnight and nobody gets lost.

Fixed points worth booking ahead

  • A show — cabaret, comedy or a Tower Ballroom night.
  • A table for the group meal, booked, not hoped for.
  • Anything competitive during the day: bowling, karting, crazy golf, the Pleasure Beach.

The rhythm of a good weekend

  • Friday — arrive, food, a couple of bars near the hotel, early night that nobody keeps.
  • Saturday — daytime activity, then the big night out. Eat properly before it starts.
  • Sunday — beach walk, chips, tram, home.

Practical

Groups fill hotels fast on summer weekends and through Illuminations season. Book direct and book early — search your dates here and you will see every hotel and what is left across all of them at once.

Staying

Our hotels are independent and central. Larger groups usually take rooms across two of them a couple of streets apart, which works better than splitting between the seafront and the outskirts. Tell us the numbers and we will sort it.
