Where to stay in Blackpool

North Shore, town centre or South Shore — which part of the seafront suits the trip you are planning.

North Shore

Quieter, greener, closer to the cliffs and Gynn Square. Good for couples, walkers and anyone who wants the sea without the arcades. Ten to fifteen minutes on the tram into town.

Town centre and the Golden Mile

Everything on the doorstep: Tower, Winter Gardens, theatres, restaurants, the piers. Busiest and liveliest, best if you are here for shows or a night out.

South Shore

The Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle and the wide southern sands. The natural base for families doing the theme park over two days.

Choosing by trip

  • Show weekend — town centre, so you can walk back after curtain.
  • Family holiday — South Shore, or town centre if you want to tram both ways.
  • Quiet break or Illuminations — North Shore.
